Lipolysis: Melting of fats with laser, ultrasound, or chemicals
Liposuction, a vacuum-assisted fat removal technique encompassing all the shaping terms mentioned above, allows for the removal of localized excess fat accumulations. With the liposuction technique, it is possible to remove and reshape fat in areas such as the arms, anterior thighs, hips and flanks, waist, back, breasts, neck, chin, knees, legs, and abdomen.
Although surgical procedures were used to address excess fat accumulation in the body until the 1980s, the unsatisfactory results led to the idea of vacuum-assisted fat removal. The successful outcomes subsequently opened a new chapter in aesthetic surgery. The absence of incision scars further increased patient satisfaction.
