The Power of Positive Thinking

Every new year brings us new resolutions, and we start the year with high motivation. This year, how about listening to NLP (mind programming through the power of thought) experts?

NLP states: “By changing your thoughts, you can also change your life.”

Many of us agree with this statement emphasizing the power of positive thinking, but taking action and sustaining it is never easy. The most fundamental reason for this is humanity’s instinct for survival and self-preservation, which constantly focuses on negative actions, preparing a kind of defense by remembering negative experiences more clearly.

Our brain, surprisingly, also surrenders to the power of affirmation. Because our thoughts, beliefs, and perceptions about ourselves direct our awareness towards developments in this direction, for example, those who truly believe they are successful; they succeed because they radiate such energy and can grasp the signs of success. How many people do you know who have succeeded while thinking they would fail?

Affirmation addresses the issues we want to put in order or change in our lives. Such as losing weight, quitting smoking, or becoming better at your job. For this, you must activate your imagination as well as your emotions. Even if acting as if something has already happened before it does seems absurd and difficult, remember that the brain cannot distinguish between imagination and reality, giving similar reactions, just as we get scared or excited in dreams.

You should use positive and clear statements for what you want to remove from your life or see in your life. Instead of saying “I don’t want to smoke,” say “I want a healthy life.”

Use “I” statements. Remember that you are doing this work only for yourself. Instead of saying “I want my boss to treat me well,” you should say “everyone treats me well, I deserve this.”

Do not send mixed messages. Instead of saying “I want my partner to find me beautiful,” it will be sufficient to say “I am a beautiful woman.”

Believe what you say. Even if your conscious mind opposes you when you say “I live in abundance and prosperity” while having financial difficulties, you must stubbornly continue to say this and believe that it is possible.

Do not just think these affirmations to yourself; say them aloud, and even write them down.

Do it regularly. Make it a habit to repeat these affirmations every day at a specific time.
