Our country has made great progress

I like the congresses in Turkey. There are certainly some poorly organized ones. There are also bad ones abroad, but currently, there has been great progress. And all kinds of congresses can be held beautifully in this country with ease.

I brought what I saw in the USA here

It was very beneficial to bring the experiences I gained, especially in America, and what I saw there, here. Also, at the congresses held there, I always noted who explained which topics better, who was strong, and who could be beneficial when they came to my country. And when we organized that big congress in ’89, I selected the invited guests. Today, there could be two reasons for the decrease in sponsorships or support for congresses. The first is the excessive number of congresses, and the second is the apparent slight decline in the economic situation. Because it seems to me that there is a problem behind the pleasant atmosphere that is reflected to us..

Every congress can be held comfortably in Turkey Prof. Dr. Onur Erol, a world-renowned aesthetic surgeon and member of the Turkish Academy of Medicine, who was elected President of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery in 2012, spoke to Medikongre about the development and current state of congresses in Turkey. There has been tremendous progress in congresses in Turkey from before 1980 until today. For one thing, before ’80, it was not possible to organize a proper congress. It was only after 1989 that congresses could function properly with their audiovisual systems and achieve a serious congress atmosphere. Now, when I look at today’s congresses, the audiovisuals and organizations are very good. I used to be terrified. For example, at a congress we held in 2000, I was even dealing with how the audiovisual system would be and what the screen would be. Now, there’s no need to struggle much. Everything is now done very professionally and beautifully.
