Thigh and buttock lift surgery is a procedure that involves the removal of loose and sagging skin and fat tissue from the thigh and buttock area, making this region taut and smooth. While these procedures can be performed together, it is also possible to perform thigh lift and buttock lift surgeries separately.

Anesthesia
If only buttock lift aesthetics or thigh lift surgery is to be performed, local anesthesia may be used. However, if thigh and buttock lift surgeries are performed together, the operation is carried out under general anesthesia.
Post-Operative Care
The patient remains in our clinic for 2-3 days post-surgery. Drains may be placed in the surgical areas, depending on the aesthetic surgeon’s preference, and these drains may remain for two days to one week. It is normal to experience discomfort and pain in the surgical area, which can be managed with prescribed painkillers during this early phase. Patients who find it difficult to walk for the first few days will be able to walk much more comfortably as the pain subsides from the end of the first week. Showering is permitted 2 days after the surgery. Physical activities are restricted for the first two weeks, after which routine activities can be resumed gradually. Sports and exercise should be avoided for approximately two months.
Complications
Hematoma, the accumulation of blood under the skin and tissue, is the most common complication after thigh and buttock lift surgeries. Although rare, drainage may be required to evacuate the accumulated blood. In some cases, seroma, the accumulation of fluid under the skin, may occur 1-2 weeks post-surgery. If deemed necessary by the aesthetic surgeon, the accumulated fluid can be drained with a syringe. Hematoma and seroma are complications that can be easily prevented with a transparent and trusting relationship between the aesthetic surgeon and the patient. Furthermore, it is crucial to remember that smoking increases the risk of all types of post-operative complications. A persistent risk in thigh and buttock lift surgeries is the widening of scars, leading to an undesirable appearance. The prominence of scars varies from patient to patient.
