What is PRP?
Platelet-Rich Plasma. Platelets (also known as thrombocytes) are particles in the blood that enable clotting. Plasma is a light yellow fluid that holds the particles in the blood together. Therefore, PRP is a plasma application enriched with platelets.
How is PRP prepared?
In a clinical setting, a syringe full of blood (approximately 15-20 cc) is drawn from the individual. This blood is placed into a sterile, closed tube that prevents clotting. The tubes containing the blood are then placed in a centrifuge. The centrifuge rapidly spins the tubes, separating the components within. The tube then contains plasma enriched with platelets. This fluid is called platelet-rich plasma.
How is it applied?
The platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is drawn into a syringe. It is then injected with a needle into the desired areas of the person from whom the blood was taken.
Where is PRP used?
PRP revitalizes and reconstructs the skin in the most natural way. After PRP, the skin gains elasticity and radiance. For this reason, it is applied to the face, décolletage, neck, and hands.
In addition to aesthetics, PRP is used in medicine for nerve injuries, tendonitis, arthritis, heart muscle diseases, and bone and cartilage regeneration.

What is PRFM?
PRFM stands for Platelet-Rich Fibrin Matrix. Fibrin is a solid and durable substance that forms blood clots.
How is PRFM prepared?
Similar to PRP preparation, PRFM involves drawing blood from the individual and placing it into a sterile, closed tube. The tubes are again placed in a centrifuge to separate their components. The resulting PRP is then reacted with certain substances like thrombin or calcium chloride, transforming it into a fluid, jelly-like consistency.
How is it used?
The resulting fluid jelly is injected with a syringe under wrinkles and lines in the facial skin. PRFM aims to create tension and rejuvenation in the facial skin.
Both PRP and PRFM are widely used aesthetic treatment methods that do not require surgical intervention. In a clinical setting, the necessary solution is prepared quickly from the patient’s own blood using specific equipment. The clinical environment where blood is drawn and administered must be clean and sterile. The injection of the obtained fluid into the desired areas can be performed in a clinical setting. Anesthesia is not required. Patients can resume their daily lives after the injection. Due to their ease and low risk, they are used not only by aesthetic surgeons but also by dermatologists. However, there is no definitive scientific consensus yet on their full efficacy.
